Family Home Evening ideas
FHE ideas continuing over from Nursery
- If I can say Hippopotamus I can say "I'm sorry"
- Teach about being kind and saying sorry to people
- Homes
- Discuss all the places animals, bugs, etc. live. Explain that we live in homes.
- Teach what things we do in our homes (obey, clean, use nice words)
Read from children's Book of Mormon we got from Grandma R.
Read stories from the friend
Teach about being grateful.
- Talk about what it means to be grateful
- Draw pictures of things we are grateful for
- Write them down on our gratitude wall
Another grateful lesson
- Talk about being grateful
- Make cookies for someone you are grateful for and take them cookies
Cleanliness
- What does it mean to be clean?
- What things do we clean?
- Clean something (house, car, toys, room)
Heavenly Father gave me my senses
- Make something (maybe a yummy food or a feeling book with soft and rough things)
The Creation
- Teach how Heavenly Father created everything
- Use play dough to make something He has created
I love the earth
- Go for a walk and talk about all the things in the earth Heavenly Father made for us
Taking care of our bodies
- God created our bodies
- Discuss the things are bodies can do
- What things should we do to take care of our bodies?
- Play a game that requires you to use your bodies (Simon says, a game with balls or a sport, etc.)
- Eat a healthy snack for the treat
Learning
- Heavenly Father wants us to learn things
- Go to the library and talk about how books help us learn
Families are forever
- Talk about how we are sealed for Eternity
- Take a trip to the temple and walk around the grounds
Another Family lesson
- Look through family photo albums and talk about the pictures
- Talk about why families are important
Act out a scripture story
Heavenly Father created animals
- Go to the animal shelter or to Petsmart
I want to be a missionary
- Talk about what missionaries do
- Write letters to missionaries
The Prophet said to plant a garden
- Work in the garden
- Make something yummy by using things from your garden

Thanks Marcy. I am working on it and I'm excited to have a list of stuff. We have already done quite a few on the list already but need to have more ideas.
oh, one more thing--I'd eventually like to have a binder that has our emergency numbers, emergency plan, a list of all our updated food storage, family home evening list, extended family birthdays, meal plans, etc. It seems like it will be a lot of work but eventually so much easier. All I'll have to do is flip to that sections and have everything I need.
