We learned about bats yesterday. We talked about some things we wanted to learn about bats first and made some predictions about what the answers would be. Then we googled bats on the internet and looked at pictures and read about the answers to our questions.
What do they eat?
Where do they live?
How much do they eat?
How do they find their food?
Are they blind?
How big are they?
Afterwards I printed off some pictures of bats for the boys to color and for lunch we had peanut butter and honey sandwhiches cut in the shape of a bat. For a special treat later in the day I made little bats. I used toothpicks, half a snickers bar, a fruit rollup and some butterscotch chips. They were fun and good (not exactly healthy though).
